What Are The Symptoms Of Middle Ear Infection? - Dr. Sreenivasa Murthy T M דלקת חדה באוזן התיכונה

The ear is divided into outer, middle and inner ear. The middle ear is connected to the nose on one side by the eusatchian tube. It is in continuum with the mastoid. The infections of the ear are in continuum with infection so of the ear. So somebody blowing their nose, can blow the secretions through the eusatchian tube in to the middle ear, and so the eusatchian tube and middle ear can get infected. So they will have severe ear pain, fever, pain around the ear, behind the ear, muffling of sounds, that is hearing will be slightly blocked and if neglected then there will be formation of pus which will come out through the middle ear. so when the ear membrane ruptures, when they will see that all the pain that they had reduces and blood stained pus material will be coming out, which is called acute suppurative otitis media. In this there are others structures which get infected like the facial nerve, inner ear gets infected through the middle ear causing labyrynthitis, and can cause giddiness. If acute suppurative otitis media is not managed properly and the hole tends to persist and not get closed, then the patient may have repeated infections due to 2 reasons like with every infection of upper respiratory tract and when water enters the ear. They will have ear discharge, noises in the ear, pain and if it continues for more than 3 months, then it is called as chronic suppurative otitis media. Based on the duration we name it as acute, subacute, chronic.
